Although Fukuoka boasts many traditional ramen shops, this time we visited a popular local gem, ‘Rasaro-tei,’ located in Sawara Ward.
The owner’s warm personality and affordable pricing.
The owner of ‘Rasaro-tei’ is known for being earnest and having a good character. They have earned the trust of the local people, which is certainly one of the restaurant’s attractions.
Another one of Rasaro-tei’s charms is its traditional pricing. They offer a surprising deal with ramen priced at just 400 yen. It’s a beloved spot for the locals where they can enjoy a meal at an affordable price, and, of course, the taste is great as well.

Unique menu items.
At ‘Rasaro-tei,’ in addition to traditional ramen, they offer innovative menu items like mugwort noodles in both zaru soba and ramen variations. Mugwort noodles are said to be beneficial for the body.

I ordered the mugwort noodles zaru soba set.
This time, I ordered the zaru soba set, not ramen. It features the owner’s highly recommended mugwort noodles. They served it with two types of dipping sauces, a Japanese-style sauce and a sesame sauce, allowing us to enjoy two different flavors. The set also comes with a choice of either white rice, kashiwa onigiri, or a selection of three different types of cutlets, which is a delightful option. The taste was as good as it looks.
With so many other delicious-looking menu items aside from the zaru soba, I look forward to visiting again someday.

Access by bicycle.
If you’re coming by bicycle, there is ample parking space right in front of the restaurant, so feel free to visit without any worries.
