The road stretching from Akasaka to Ropponmatsu in the center of Fukuoka City is called ‘Keyaki-dori.’ About 100 Zelkova trees form a beautiful avenue, enchanting passersby with its changing scenery throughout the seasons.
Keyaki-dori is lined with stylish buildings, housing a variety of shops including unique eateries and art galleries. Walking along the street, you’ll feel the high status of the area’s urban landscape.
While only 800 meters long, Keyaki-dori attracts attention as a spot where you can feel a variety of charms beyond just being a ‘stylish street’.
Kentucky Fried Chicken is located at the western end of Keyaki-dori . Surprisingly, the interior is clean and spacious, with few customers, making it a hidden gem for reading or working on your PC. In downtown Fukuoka, places like Starbucks and Komeda Coffee are often crowded, and you’re expected to wait in line and not linger. However, here, even on weekends, there are few customers, and the atmosphere is pleasant, allowing you to relax and enjoy your time. When exploring Keyaki Street, why not stop by for a break?
There are many other recommended spots around here. If you continue along Keyaki-dori, you will find Gokoku Shrine, Ohori Park, and Maizuru Park. Spending a holiday exploring Keyaki-dori and then heading to Ohori Park might be a great way to enjoy your time.
