The Island City Summer Festival is a seasonal event held in the new district of Island City in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka. Popular among local residents, families, and couples, the festival features food stalls, stage performances, and attractions for children — offering fun for all generations.

366th Chikugo River Fireworks Festival (Kurume City)
With a history of over 350 years, this traditional festival in Kurume features stunning fireworks reflecting on the Chikugo River. With around 15,000 fireworks launched, it is one of the largest and most iconic fireworks festivals in Kyushu.

Yume HANABI 2025 (Ogori City)
Now in its 54th year, Yume HANABI has become a beloved summer tradition passed down through generations in Ogori. The 2025 theme is “Bravery & Spirit”. Many food stalls will be open during the event as well!

Soeda Fireworks Festival (Soeda Town, Tagawa District)
This annual event in Soeda Town features about 3,000 fireworks lighting up the summer sky. In 2025, it will be held at a new venue: Soeda Sun Sports Land. It’s conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from JR Nishi-Soeda Station, making it easily accessible.

38th Kanmon Strait Fireworks Festival (Kitakyushu City)
This large-scale fireworks festival was first held in 1988 to honor the deceased and to express the spirit of “Genki from Kanmon!” Co-hosted by Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki, it has now reached its 38th edition in 2025.

Amagi River Fireworks Festival (Asakura City)
Enjoy the beautifully lit Amagi Bridge over the Koishiwara River with lanterns. After the fireworks, a memorial ceremony called “Nagare Kanjo” is held, where 60–70 lanterns float down the river. About 100 food stalls also line the surrounding area.

17th Miyako Town Summer Festival (Miyako District)
Enjoy stage events such as Japanese taiko drum performances and a memorial ceremony for the war dead at Sun Great Miyako. The festival concludes with about 1,000 fireworks. In case of rain, it will be postponed to Sunday, August 24.
