Around 1,000 cherry trees bloom beautifully around Fukuoka Castle, creating a stunning pathway for visitors to enjoy. Since the festival aligns with the cherry blossom season, it is one of the best hanami (flower-viewing) events in Fukuoka. Every year, many visitors from both inside and outside Fukuoka come to experience the festival.

I actually visited the place with my girlfriend. We sat on a picnic sheet, enjoyed the cherry blossoms, and had food from the food stalls!

The venue of the Fukuoka Castle Sakura Festival spreads around Fukuoka Castle in Maizuru Park. There are bicycle parking areas near and inside the venue, so you can go by bicycle too. We also went there by bicycle. We parked at the bicycle space near the entrance, but it’s also a good idea to park at “Saika Park Akasaka Bicycle Parking” and walk from there. Festival Dates and Hours

The festival period depends on the cherry blossom season, usually lasting about one week to ten days. In 2025, it will be held from March 26 (Wed) to April 6 (Sun). The operating hours are as follows: the gourmet area is open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM (last order at 9:30 PM), and the special paid light-up event runs from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (last entry at 9:45 PM). Be sure to check the time before visiting.
