367th Chikugo River Fireworks Festival, Kurume City

This traditional fireworks festival in Kurume City has a history of more than 350 years. The fireworks reflected on the Chikugo River are very beautiful, and about 12,000 fireworks are launched. It is one of the most famous fireworks festivals in Kyushu because of its large scale and long history.

Yume HANABI 2026, Ogori City

Yume HANABI will be held for the 55th time this year. It is a popular summer event in the local area and has become a traditional event in Ogori. The theme for 2026 is “To a Beloved Future.” There will also be many food stalls.

39th Kanmon Straits Fireworks Festival, Kitakyushu City

This is a large fireworks festival. The Kanmon Straits Fireworks Festival started in 1988 as a joint event by Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki. It began as a welcoming fire to remember people who had passed away, and also to share the message that the Kanmon hometown area is full of energy. This year is the 39th festival. All areas around the venue are paid areas.

Amagi River Fireworks Festival, Asakura City

One of the highlights is Amagi Bridge over the Koishiwara River, which is lit up with lanterns. After the fireworks, a memorial event called “Nagare Kanjo” is held, and about 60 to 70 lanterns are floated on the Amagi River. Around the venue, there will also be about 100 food stalls.

Nakagawa Citizens’ Festival is a summer festival in Nakagawa City. You can enjoy stage events, food trucks, a group dance, and fireworks. In 2026, it is scheduled for Saturday, August 22. At night, about 2,000 fireworks will be launched. It is easy to visit from Fukuoka City, and it is a good choice for people who want to enjoy a relaxed summer festival atmosphere.
