I have fond memories of attending this event with my girlfriend on our first date last year. This year, the Christmas Market will again take place in various locations across Fukuoka City. The Christmas Market (Christmas Advent) is a major event that lights up Fukuoka’s winter. Each venue offers its own unique attractions.

• Christmas Gourmet at the Huts
  Rows of charming huts serve authentic Christmas dishes and drinks. Highly recommended are the hot wine and the signature spiral sausage. For non-drinkers, hot grape juice is a great alternative.


• Authentic Christmas Goods
  The market is filled with Christmas-themed ornaments and candles. These stylish items make perfect gifts for loved ones.


• Music and Stage Events
  Live performances enhance the Christmas spirit even more. Enjoy the heartwarming music and let it soothe your soul.


• Original Design Mugs
  Each venue offers uniquely designed original mugs, which are a big hit every year. Last year, we bought matching mugs, and we’re excited to see this year’s designs!

Fukuoka City Hall West Side Fureai Square

It’s easy to find as it’s located right in front of Nishitetsu Fukuoka Tenjin Station. This lively venue features a variety of delicious food and live music performances. We enjoyed hot wine, hot grape juice, and sausages here. Plus, getting matching mugs made our visit even more special. However, since it’s very crowded with both shops and people, be careful not to get separated from your companions.

Tenjin Central Park – Forest of Lights

Located right next to the Fukuoka City Hall West Side Fureai Square, this venue transforms into a romantic illuminated park at night. The square is lined with huts offering a wide range of food. My girlfriend and I bought roasted marshmallows and enjoyed them together. Inside the venue, there are cars and figurines decorated with illuminations, creating great photo spots. Taking pictures with the lights makes for a beautiful memory.
