Ingredients Preparation

First, make sure to carefully check the basics of the instant ramen. It’s important to measure the right amount of water to get the perfect broth thickness and noodle texture. In addition to the ramen itself, I also added extras like green onions and pickled ginger (sold separately). This simple addition brings the authentic Nagahama ramen experience right to your home.

Cooking Steps

  1. Start by putting the soup base and seasoning oil into a bowl.

  2. Next, boil the water and cook the noodles. Use 430ml of water, and cook the noodles for 2 minutes. You can adjust the cooking time based on your preference for noodle firmness — iPhone recommend 1.5 minutes. Stir the noodles gently with chopsticks while cooking to loosen them up. Following the instructions for the right amount of water and cooking time is key.

  3. Meanwhile, prepare the toppings. I used pickled ginger (sold separately), bean sprouts (sold separately), green onions (sold separately), and pork (sold separately).

  4. Once the noodles are cooked, pour the hot water from the pot into the bowl, and mix the soup base thoroughly. You now have a rich tonkotsu broth.

  5. Transfer the noodles into the bowl and mix well, allowing the noodles to soak up the flavorful soup

  6. Finally, add your toppings. Pile on the green onions, pickled ginger, and bean sprouts for an extra burst of flavor.

Taste Test

The finished ramen provides quite the satisfaction for an instant noodle dish. One bite, and you won’t be able to stop—it’s so delicious you’ll find yourself finishing it in no time!

However, when adding toppings, be mindful of the amount as they tend to soak up the soup. Also, be quick to add them so the noodles don’t get too soft. If you’ve ever visited Ganso Nagahama-ya or Ganso Ramen Nagahama-ya, the taste might bring back some nostalgic memories.
