Farmhouse UOVO in Itoshima

In Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, there’s a popular shop known for its egg-based sandwiches and sweets called UOVO. This restaurant offers dishes featuring the abundant use of ‘Tenjo Tamago’ (heavenly eggs), making it a delightful destination for egg enthusiasts. This time, I visited UOVO with my girlfriend on a holiday to experience its charm.

What kind of place is UOVO?

The white building along the ‘Sunset Road’ in Itoshima is ‘Itoshima Farmhouse UOVO.’ Here, you can enjoy various dishes made with celestial eggs, including the most popular egg sandwich, as well as egg over rice, and egg soft-serve ice cream.

Stylish and open terrace seats are available, and there are facilities that children will enjoy, such as swings.

I tried the egg sandwich!

I tried the egg sandwich! Generous amounts of fresh and rich celestial eggs are enveloped in bread. With each bite, the rich and creamy flavor spreads throughout the mouth, providing a satisfying and delightful experience. A must-try for egg lovers!

Although limited to dine-in, you can also enjoy rice with celestial egg topping inside the restaurant. Surprisingly, rice is free for seconds, and celestial eggs are all-you-can-eat!

Where is UOVO located?

UOVO is located along Sunset Road in Itoshima City, marked by a white building. It takes about 1 hour by car from Fukuoka City, but the journey is well worth it. The restaurant is surrounded by nature, offering a pleasant moment to enjoy delicious food.

Bicycle Access

It is recommended to visit by car. The parking facilities are well-equipped.

If you love cycling, making UOVO one of your destinations on the Itoshima Cycling route is a great idea! There is ample bicycle parking space on the UOVO premises. They even have tandem rental bicycles available (laughs). Itoshima’s cycling routes offer the opportunity to enjoy beautiful scenery and fresh air!
