Kibun: A longstanding tuna cuisine restaurant.

Information is as of publication and may be outdated.

Established in 1964, this restaurant has been a longstanding expert in tuna cuisine. Originally located underground in the Fukuoka Tenjin Center Building, the restaurant had to relocate to the current Tenyamachi location in June 2022 due to the redevelopment associated with the ‘Tenjin Big Bang,’ which led to the demolition of the building.

I had visited several times during the Tenjin era, but this is my first visit since the relocation. I took advantage of my work lunch break to come and check it out.

Exceptional cost-performance for tuna cuisine

The lunchtime set menu offers an incredible cost-performance. I ordered Lunch Set A, and please take a look at the photo. All these various tuna dishes come at just 1,100 yen (including tax). It includes tuna sashimi, simmered tuna, a dish of sliced raw tuna dressed with grated yam, tuna salad, soup, and pickles. I thoroughly enjoyed the deliciousness of tuna in every dish.

Attractive and diverse menu

There are many other appealing tuna dishes, and it seems the Kuro Tekka Don is also popular. I plan to visit several more times and try them out.

Access by bicycle

If you come by bicycle, it seems you can park it in front of the shop if it’s around 1 or 2 bikes.

Where is the location of ‘Kibun’?

Kibun is located in a corner of Tenyamachi. In this area, you’ll find many historic establishments, including Fukuoka’s oldest coffee shop, ‘Brazileiro.’ Exploring around here seems interesting.
