New food stalls are continuously opening in the nightlife districts of Hakata. In the Nakasu Nakashimacho area, a new food stall has also set up shop! This time, we visited “Tsunatsuna,” which just opened on July 26, 2023.
The menu
The menu at ‘Tsunatsuna’ appeared to have a lot of snack-like options typically enjoyed with drinks. However, as I was looking for a full dinner, I went for the more substantial ‘Shanghai-style fried noodles’ and also decided to try one of their recommended dishes, the ‘Japanese beef tripe stew’!
The menu had a wide variety of drinks at very reasonable prices.
The atmosphere of ‘Tsunatsuna’
The atmosphere at Tsunatsuna is quite welcoming. The owner, a young man, is very pleasant and friendly. Even with just a short conversation, I’ve grown quite fond of him. He seems to enjoy chatting and is good at small talk. The other staff members were equally delightful people! It’s a cozy and relaxed food stall where you can feel right at home.
And this owner is surprisingly young, being in his twenties. In fact, he’s the youngest stall owner among Fukuoka’s food stalls. He mentioned that during his university days, he worked part-time at a riverside stall in Nakasu.
The stalls in the Nakasu Nakashimacho area, including Tsuna Tsuna, are not as crowded, making it a relaxing and recommended experience. In other areas, there tend to be more foreign tourists, and waiting in lines is common. In contrast, you can enjoy the stalls in the Nakasu Nakashimacho area at your own pace!

A newly opened stall as of July 26, 2023. The owner is the youngest stall owner in Fukuoka! He enjoys conversing and is a very pleasant person.
Furthermore, in the “Nakasu Nakashimacho area” where this stall is located, foot traffic is sparse. Therefore, there’s no need to wait in long lines to enter a stall. You can relax and enjoy your meal and conversation at the stall. Their signature dishes use beef offal and are delicious. They also offer a wide variety of drinks at reasonable prices.
