I visited the “Cosmic Brain Restaurant” that I found in Ropponmatsu. I was curious about its mysterious name, so I decided to check it out.

The owner, captivated by Nepalese cuisine, opened the restaurant in 2013 with the concept of ‘Preserving the Authentic Taste of the Region.’ It’s a place where you can savor authentic curries.
The chef has experience working in a 5-star restaurant in Nepal. That’s truly authentic!
I actually met him, and he was a dashing and handsome man!
It’s definitely not a mistake; they were chosen as one of the top 100 restaurants by Tabelog in 2022 and have received high praise. Additionally, it seems they’ve made appearances in various media outlets as well.
I ordered the “Chichil & Sishil Set.”
This time, I ordered the classic “Chichil & Sishil Set.”
As for the taste, it was authentically spiced and had the flavor of a true “authentic curry.” You can also order it with Basmati rice.
“What is the origin of the restaurant’s name?”
The origin of the name “Chichir & Shishiri” is a bit of a mystery, and it’s not clear where it comes from.
The name “Chichir & Shishiri” originates from a dream that the restaurant owners, a married couple, had when they got married. In the dream, Chichir (the female) and Shishiri (the male) appeared as extraterrestrial beings from the Sirius star. Chichir, in the dream, imparted many teachings resembling “laws of living” that guide one towards the path of happiness.
When the wife shared this dream with her husband, he suggested that they use the names of these extraterrestrial beings to create a unique name for their restaurant. And that’s how the name “Chichir & Shishiri” came to be!
Indeed, it’s quite an out-of-this-world story!
